The profile Google
shows first
in Barcelona's uptown
MG already had its Google profile, but almost nobody reached its website from it: 116 visits a month. Less than a year later it was 224.

They had a Google profile. What they lacked were visits.
MG Grupo Inmobiliario specialises in luxury properties in Barcelona's uptown. It already had its Google profile active and set up. The problem was different: it was not visible enough for people looking for a home in its area to reach it.
At the end of 2023, the profile was sending 116 visits a month to its website. Far below what the business was worth.
On Google Maps, the top three profiles take almost all the attention. What sits below is seen by very few people, and the uptown area is one of the most competitive markets in Barcelona.
What we found when we opened the profile
-
The profile was there, but it was not working. It was set up, yes, but it generated neither interactions nor quality visits.
-
A neighbourhood with heavy competition. Standing out in the uptown area was the main challenge: it is one of the most competitive luxury markets in the city.
Four fronts, less than a year
- The profile, written for the searches that matter. Copy written for what people looking for a home in the uptown area actually type.
- A well-organised website. Content arranged so it is easy to navigate and the best properties are seen first.
- Authority links. A link strategy that strengthens the website's reputation with Google.
- Monthly adjustments, with data. We review what works and fine-tune each action to get the most out of it.
From 116 to 224 visits a month
Less than a year later, MG's profile comes up first for the key searches in its area and sends almost twice as many visits to its website. And behind the profile, the website climbs on Google too.
- 116→224visits a month to their website from the profile
- 7→47searches where it ranks in the top three
- 40→257searches where it appears on the first page
What are a hundred and eight more visits a month worth?
It is the question an owner asks, not a technician. Enter your figures: how many visits end in a message or a call, how many of those in a deal and what each one leaves you.
Simple arithmetic with your figures, not a promise of results.
We have been working together for about a year and I would rate them 10 out of 10. An excellent team, effective and decisive. And most importantly: with clear results. Keep it up, team!

Questions about this case
-
Less than a year. At the end of 2023, the Google profile was sending 116 visits a month to MG's website; less than a year later it was 224, almost double. On Google Maps the change is not immediate: the profile climbs as Google sees it as more complete, more active and better backed by the website.
-
No. The visits come from the Google profile, with no paid campaigns behind them: it is local SEO.
-
That is exactly this case: MG already had an active profile. What changed was that it started working, with copy, website, links and monthly adjustments.
-
The uptown area is one of the most competitive luxury markets in Barcelona, and even so MG's profile came to rank first for the key searches in its area. In yours, the searches, the profiles you compete with and where people search from will differ, and the work adjusts to that. The first step is the check of your website: within 24 hours you see how Google finds you in your area.
-
Because Google ranks the map according to where the search is made from: the same search made in Sarrià or in Les Corts does not show the same profiles. That is why the case was measured at 49 points across the uptown area. At 26 of them MG's profile comes first, and at all 49 it appears among the top three.
-
With several fronts at once, as in this case: a profile written for the searches that matter, a well-organised website backing it up, links from other websites that strengthen its authority and monthly adjustments based on data. The searcher's distance also counts and cannot be changed, which is why the work is done zone by zone. We explain it in local real estate SEO.
-
Every time someone sees MG's profile on Google and taps through to its website. It is the figure Google Business Profile provides and the one that went from 116 to 224 a month. Calls and direction requests from the profile are counted separately and are not in this figure.
-
Yes, office by office. Google allows one profile for each premises open to the public, so each office is worked on with its area, its searches and its reviews. What you should not do is create profiles where you have no office: it goes against Google's guidelines and could cost you the profile. For the areas where you have no office there is the website, with a page for each area: that is how we work to make you the go-to agency in your area.
